Jeez thats so bad. Im wondering if its an oil fire seeing as its in the vicinity of the offside front, maybe a fuel line leakage also but either way thats really gutting.
I know it looks bad at this stage but is there any chance to repair it do you think? Id pitch in a few spares if itd help you put it back on the road,Im certain others would also, I havent got much but you could gladly have what you needed free of charge. Any chance we could start a parts collection to help this guy? Last edited by 4v6; 30-03-19 at 06:14 PM. |

What I can tell you is that it was a fuel fire - I am not 100% what caused it but looking through the photos, the fire was concentrated around the FI metering head - and if you zoom in on the pic attached you might just be able to see a banjo union at the side of the metering head ( placed about 7 o'clock placed up right on the inner wing) - that is the return fuel line that for some reason is not connected to the metering head.

Yeah I can see that, looks like its come off or blown off-might have been perished at the crimp.
Airbox lid I have brand new one of those for an ur, yours if you want it, ill see if ive anything else-I know ive got an oil line and some other odds and sods that might be useful if youre intent on putting her to rights. Looking at it externally, I dont think its irreparable, Im certain you could get enough parts sorted to put it to rights. Hope youll go for it. |

Really gutted for you and really sad photos.
I've got an extensive parts collection, including a dash and other bits. If you decide to salvage the car, let me know as I would happily donate parts.....
