Heater flap foam ?
I have the matrix to do on my tdi dog wagon and I'm going to replace the heater flap foam at the same time...…..is it this type of stuff that I need? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3mm-Bag-M...Seqw:rk:2:pf:0

It’s made of a much softer material, you use scrim foam on the door cards for example. It’ll flex and rip fairly quickly methinks.

One thing maybe to consider is that within the heater matrix it will get very hot, if the self adhesive glue does not work well in hot temperatures then it may unstick.
The first time I did the heater matrix flaps on my MK 2 GTI I used self adhesive foam but a few months later I found the foam been blown up to my vents and so it didnt stay stuck. The next time i attempted repair but on my B3 CQ I used non self adheisive material but used M3 double sided tape with good heat resistent properties (stay stuck at high temperatues). Not had any issues as of yet with this. |

That’s a fair point, my car doesn’t see a winter road so the foam’s only seeing fresh air.
