80 TDI Master Cylinder
It's looking like the master cylinder has gone on my TDI estate, can anyone tell me if the master cylinder is model specific or will any 80/90 master cylinder fit, or is the 80 master cylinder the same as anything else in the vw/audi family.
Thanks Bryan |

There are at least 2 different sizes of master cylinder depending on engine size and differences in some LHD/RHD part numbers presumably due to the location of the brake pipe connections and if ABS is fitted (think it was standard on B4 models).
The ETKA catalog and also VAGCAT site that were online are now down presumably due to VAG intervention. There are others but I won't post a link as the adminstrators would probably remove due to copyright infringment. The ones listed are either 22.2 or 23.81 internal diameter so you would need to identify yours. Usually lots of NOS on ebay if you know what to look for. typical part numbers from ETKA for B4 models are 893611021A for 22.2 and 4A0611021D or 8A0611021 for the 23.81 |

Thanks for the info Dave, I will pull it off tomorrow and have a look for the numbers and see what I can find.
