Audi cabriolet final edition instrument cluster

hi ,

I've got my cabriolet almost ready to drive again after doing a major service to the engine this winter.
I just bought the car in october last year so I'm not really up to date of all its features.
I just noticed when I start the car that nothing pops up on the minicheck of the instrument cluster... Could it be that it just is not in use on my model of car, or it is always used and should always something be displayed when starting the car... maybe it is just broken and needs to be replaced?

Any ideas on that topic? Is there a way to know what it should do or if it is in use?

My B3 (I believe uses the same instrument cluster) only lights up the brake pressure warning which goes out the first time the footbrake is used once the engine is started.

There are a couple of variants of the auto check / mini check. The posh dot matrix version isn't fitted to every car even though it was standard on the earlier B3 90 (in the uk at least). The 80 in B3/B4 guise more often than not just had space for 4 additional warning lamps arranged inside the square. If you have the latter type nothing will display in there unless there is a problem or engine isnt running.

It can be replaced separately to the instruments. Does it do nothing at all?
