There was much more innovative car - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2A5ijU3Ivs
Real turbo car, not that crap with trying to push more air to ordinary cylinders everybody think, but the only factory gas turbine car. At least, this was the only attempt to replace 100 years old internal combustion engine in car to something new. However, there are some modern DIY projects you can find over Internet with Garret GTP30 gas turbine APU installed instead of ordinary engine. |

Wasn't the first Citroen DS packed full with such innovative stuff for the 60's that other manufacturers have only just begun to adopt widely themselves? Things like turning headlamps for starters?

Another car way ahead of it's time for 1948 was the Tucker Torpedo, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQDjWstNmi0 it came with safety features like minimal dash incase of an accident, also pop out screen if the car was to roll, seatbelts as standard and a centre headlight that turned with the steering.
