Digital dash going for repair to Peter Knight
I never wanted to call or talk to Peter Knight because the only reason I would have is a digital dash problem, well it has happened, after 20 minuets or so of driving the water temp gauge goes to the hot end of the scale the speedo starts to jump about the rev counter jumps about the computer resets its self, at idle at traffic lights the dash reads 5mph and around 2,500rpm. Called Peter and left voice mail and he returned my call the next day, he said the problem is the memory chip that posses the information has gone and needs replaced, he also said now the dash is out and going to him there is some other parts / components that are prone to needing replaced need to be looked at, witch in my mind is a good shout due to the dash being over 34 years old and some 147,000 miles down the road, the cost of the repair will be around £250 including postage both ways, this is of course without any other problems being found, Photos of dash being removed below.

Yep, he's also worked on my car replacing the alternator which in turn lead to the Driver's heated seat to work again - he did explain why!

Digital dash is now back and installed in the car and working, it still needs a road test due to the fault I had took some 20 mins to manifest its self, the car was due to go back on the road at the start of next month so I will have to wait till then for a road test, Peter Knight is one of the best people I have ever dealt with, diagnosed the fault over the phone, gave me a price and stuck to it and did the work in the time scale he gave me, you can't ask for any more than that, thanks Pete you are a star.
