Great set of pictures David, think i can work out why you like it there so much besides the cars and planes.
I doubt i'll be there in any sort of period dress just need to think about what's the best day to attend i.e.,for the planes,
It will be Olivers first taste of Spitfires and hopefully a lancaster.

I hope thay are there - BBMF that is. Last I heard was that their Merlin engined aircraft are grounded until the engine mounting pins are crack-tested. Looks like they had a failure on one of the Spits and they took the very wise decision to ground the rest of the planes until they can be certain it isn't an isolated occurrence. I understand there is a separate problem with the Griffon engines which means all the BBMF fighters & Lanc are non-operational for the time being.
The Dakota and Chipmunks are OK, though. Whether the latter have the range to be able to attend Goodwood is another matter.....
I think privately owned Spitfires are OK unless they have engine mounting pins from the same batch as BBMF.........

Blenheim was its maiden flight at Goodwood I believe, or at least one of the first.

Haven't seen the inside of the Lancaster, although I am tempted to do the runway power up run in the one in Leicester, I can let you know then.

That was Mark, I was the one escorting the young lady in the green dress, stick on beard so the Memsaab didn't recognise me
