Default 6R4 on Fire - OMG

I feel sick.........

I used to rally alongside this car, up until 12 months ago, until the UK owner sold it to Italy.

It's just been out on Rally Legends, 2009 in Italy and it has tragically caught fire during that event.

As I said, I feel totally sick, and hope nobody was hurt............

Minutes before the tragedy............

Hopefully, that'll be back on the road by the spring, smoke damage and some composites, but nothing too severe to prevent repair. Most of the plastic panels have not even distorted in the heat, and it's only confined to this right rear corner.

It'd give 10 out of 10 to the fire marshals and event organisers for potentially saving a superb machine from catastrophe...

Well said, but it just makes me realise how much these guys risk, everytime they field an original car. This is an Ex-Works Llewellyn car, full-house, proper job.

All credit to them for "having a go" in the thing.
