KU engine Ignition Timing
Folks,
My C3's engine used to run on 98 RON leaded fuel and its timing was adjusted for regular unleaded. (10 degrees BTDC with vac @ 800 rpm). As we've been told E5 petrol will eventually be in the form of Super Unleaded 97 RON grade, I assume I would need to re-adjust the timing again in order to use it? Will using the settings for 98 RON leaded be good enough? Can the difference between 95 & 97 RON be that great to warrant adjustment? My local petrol station says they will probably still offer E5 95 RON, but if not, ideally I'd like to be able to swap between E10 95 RON & E5 97 RON... Incidentally, I hear the Scottish Highlands and certain parts of Scotland's north and west coasts will continue to receive Regular E5 95 RON petrol... I wouldn't go changing the timing even if you plan on running 97 RON all the time.
Since you may use 95 RON, keep it as it is
