Photo of jack and brace position in boot wanted...
Does anyone have a photo of how the jack and brace are supposed to be fixed in the boot please?
There is a hole in the wing lining where the jack MIGHT go, but it doesn't fit very well. The rubber strap also seems to have a position, but it doesn't make it easier to see how it is supposed to fit. Thanks!

The brace should be in a small pouch which is held by a strap along with the spare wheel.
You can see the strap in this pic The jack should be on the rear panel below the lock striker held by 2 rubber straps.

Hmmm, nothing like that on our WR….
It’s always been like this as long as we’ve had it. (1995) that’s not to say it’s correct mind!

Mine is the same as simmo’s, I’ve seen 20v’s boot layout is different but I can’t remember why now

I'll echo that.......... Not sure where I got the info, but that's how I set mine up with a full size unrestrained spare.

space saver on the MB must have been bigger because it wouldn't sit in the corner like on your WR.

Thanks for those photos. That helps a lot.
The space saver sizes did change, and the bigger ones don’t fit under the aerial. I think we all had a discussion about this two years ago? I will see if I can find the posts. Maybe in the thread about the meet we did off the M25?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I put a full size spare in sometime last century. But I did have all the bits to reinstate it to original spec.
Then I lost the space-saver wheel… And when the car went in for renovations, they lost most of everything else, except one rubber strap. It doesn’t seem quite so important, now, though. I used the full size spare once; again sometime last century. I’d like to put the jack back in nicely.

I do seem to recall the jack going in the space behind the wheel. My mistake was always trying to fit it "down" from the hole rather than "up" !
I found the post from The Star about space saver sizes. I think its not much of an issue, given the number of times I've had to change to a spare wheel (twice) in 30 years of motoring-as long as there is SOME way of being able to get back home that is good enough! see: http://www.classic-audi.co.uk/forum/...ad.php?t=39071 I may also try tucking the jack behind the lock as Mike says, and see what i feel most comfortable with.

If the front wheel is punctured you have to swap on a rear wheel and use the space saver on the rear.
