This forum is not doing my health any good at all!
First we have 80GT's popping up all over and then we have the pics of Nick Walkers B3 16V quattro - this better than sex! I'm off to the pub its far less stressful

Here I am, appearing !!!
The Cliffegrune 1974/5 80gt A genuine car bought by my dad in1975 as an ex demo. He was a mechanic so never trusted anybody else to touch it. It never failed an MOT and was in fact MOT'd just weeks before he took it off the road as he was offered a new Audi by a friend. Over the years another audi and two BMW's came and went but the green GT stayed resting in the garage. Why he kept it I dont know , perhaps he had an eye for a long term investment ! The car has approximately 77k on the clock and I remember as a child being driven in it all over Europe. The car was never used for commuting , as far as he was concerned that was work for motor bikes (of which I also have a couple now). The car was driven into the garage and has never been played with since. All parts are there, as far as i can tell only the drivers side front wing has any rust though as yet I cant reach the other side. The interior is good the Blaupunkt radio and golfball speakers period, the vinyl roof undamaged the rear arches sound. I seem to remeber him injecting oil into the cills etc some time back in the 70's , perhaps that too has paid off. My dad has recently passed on and I know I will never get around to recommisioning the car so would Ideally like to sell it on to a genuine enthusiast as it is truly a period piece right down to its bolt on fog and spot lights. Price ???? well the answer would be in the bay I suppose though I am not keen on that option . The tangerine dream allegedly sold last week for £2500 ,I have been offered £1500 for the number plate You tell me. some one make a suggestion and perhaps see where it goes from there. |

where abouts do you live and where can the car be viewed?
Price on these is tough as it will be a resto for someone and parts are nigh on impossible to source. Trev who completely restored his early 80 will vouch for that! That said, it is definitely worth getting back on the road and would love to see it go to a good home. If I didn't already have a project I'd be knocking on your door now as I've always wanted a series 1 80GT. if the other chap did get £2500 for the other 80GT, then I think he's done very well indeed as that was in worse condition than yours. |
