OK not an Audi, but how can our solid, driveable cars go for so little yet a rusted wreck of a Mk1 escort go for piss taking amount

I'll tell you how, it's the sheep syndrome.............they follow the flock.

To be an Audi person i always thought it meant you were an independent thinker to every one else. At least that's how it was to me years ago.

My thoughts exactly Log book or no log book that's a heap of rust and any Mk1 shell can be converted to rally / twin cam spec.
I did this with my 1100 Mk1 30 years ago (and god I wish I'd kept it now ), ended up with all the Rally stuff underneath and on the shell and a 1650cc twin weber engine with rolling road set up 124bhp and surprised most 3.0l cars of the time Must find some pics of it

Price is probably something to do with the the inclusion of a log book with the BB49 body no prefix? I believe this was a Halewood built 'Twin Cam' saloon.

And probably worth upwards of £150,000 when straightened out, repainted and with running gear fitted. Mk 1's go for silly money in the Historic Rally world.
