Question Master brake cylinder - Auto & Manual - any difference?

Is there any difference between a master brake cylinder on an automatic and manual? I ask this as I have fitted a new master brake cylinder and it didn't say it was for an automatic - I can't think why it would be different but I've seen these item advertised specifically for Autos????
