The earlier Press cars were NH,NV,RP,VV and BD. Around 1994/95, they started using different reg identifiers, JB being one, BW another, AN another, (the RS2, M119MJB and M120 MJB being two examples. By 1999, UD was another used. I would be fairly sure your Cab is an Ex Audi UK car. |

Here is a TT Press Car on a Y Plate bearing the UD Reg.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-DRIVE...item27f0838d39 An A4 bearing a UD plate. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-DRIVE...item27f0838ec4 Rod's Vanilla Gelb Coupe is also very likely to be an ex Press car, as it bears a JH plate. WL and FC were other press reg plates that were used in the late '90s. Last edited by Kenquattro; 27-06-15 at 11:27 PM. |

Strange how they stopped using the Northampton / Milton Keynes reg in the mid 90s, even though Audi UK remained in Milton Keynes. |

I had the 2.6 cabriolet in manual before (kingfisher blue as well, he he) and the manual box makes all the difference to the performance. It felt much quicker and controlled than the auto that my current 2.8 runs. I am always in two minds about converting this one to a manual box, the plus is the ease of use, and when you want to hustle from traffic lights manually running the box makes it seriously quick off the line.
Pure powerless, cruising at 60mph and on a country lane, the 2.8 is much better for overtaking a truck, it seems to have more flexibility than the 2.6 did. That aside, full was good on both cars at about 300-320 miles to a tank. If you want to lazy cruise, get the 2.8 auto, if you want to hustle get a 2.8 manual. |
