87-91 B3 80/90 Wind Deflectors?
Hey folks,
Has anyone got wind deflectors fitted to their B3 80's or 90's? If yes, what brand and where did you get them from? I ordered a set of G3 wind deflectors from Micks Garage.... http://www.micksgarage.com/search.as...87%20to%201991 Note the Additional Information....... Additional Information Easy to Install - simple clip-in type - no tools required Additional Information Full simple fitting instructions included They came with nuts, bolts, washers, some metal clips that have to be attached with self tapping screws into either the door rubbers or the triangular bit of plastic between the window and door frame. None of which I am prepared to do. Absolutely no matching instructions for my car? They will refund part costs, but don't refund postage either direction. I'm less than happy as you can imagine. Thoughts??? Ok so that aside, Has anyone got or know where to get wind deflectors for these cars, that fit without glue or screws? I ordered these as it has always bugged me that you can't have the windows open a wee bit when it rains without the doorcard and window switches getting a shower. TIA Dan. |

OR operate your windscreen washers/ wipers without getting a load of water dripping in on those switches when driving. Poor design I have to say......

A friend has got some "team heko" ones on his Peugeot 309, they were fairly easy to fit but the clip in design does mean they slip out occasionally, just a case of pushing them back in.
Found a set for the audi on ebay (among others): http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/361282947449? Must admit the switches in my 90 are less vulnerable since i retrofitted B4 door cards as they are wider at the top, still get water coming in through the open window though, happens on a lot of the Audis contemporaries too, just something thats been ironed out over the years I guess!! |

Thanks, yeah, have ordered a set of Team Heko deflectors after being recommended them by a nice chap on our Classic Audi facebook page.
The old water soaking session did not happen in my B2 90, astheteics and aerodynamics won over function, I can't say I have noticed anywhere near as bad on any other car I have had, but then, the perfect car doesn't exist, or didn't anywhere other than in the great mind of Glen Larson! lol |

Got a full set of Heko ones for the B4 several months ago, they look good and are a decent fit but the securing glue strips are pretty useless. Lost one of the rear ones after a couple of months and I've had to grab the drivers one a few times as it detached itself whilst I was driving with the window down
Totally agree with the comments about getting wet from the washers or roof water

I've got a set of Climair deflectors on my A3 for the last few years & no complaints. These just popped in with no screws.
