Does anyone runs their C1 2/4D with lowering and 16 or 17" wheels.Will 7,5x16" with ET35 fit?

Say what?

I understand "lower", I usually shudder at that word.

It is usually uttered by a veedubber, right after he has sawn 4 inches off the springs and added an air ride set. The installation of which he usually triumphantly declares he has "hidden" under the rear seat of his newly acquired C1.

This act of vandalism is usually self evident by the shower of sparks generated by the progression of the vehicle over the mildest of sleeping policemen.

If you could explain the rest of your question in Andy Pandy language, my answer is probably, no.

However as long as your C1 is road legal and maintained as such, I applaud your efforts. Keep it up!!

Im sorry that i insulted you with the word "lower". My only question was about dimension about a wheel and its offset... and i get a tirade from you Steev, about
your former problems with others. I live in Norway, with probably more stricter laws regarding cars than all other countries. TUV approvals on springs and shocks(no Bosch cutting of springs),MOT every 2year, ground height, change of offset, emission, and on and on and on will be checked each time. Not worried about safety at all,so why do you waste your time with that nonsens if you not have answer to the question.

Hi Steinarn,

Just to pour a little coolant over the above replies, I know Steev very well and he has helped me very much during the time of my ownership of a 1974 Audi 100LS .

I think there is an element of "humour" in his replies altho' I also know he loves his Audis original, as much as possible anyway.

By virtue of the name of this Forum, " Classic" Audi tends to mean that most of us prefer our Audis as original as possible, BUT I'm sure there are some ( and I have a good friend who lives locally and does like to mildly customise his car ) who maybe able to answer your question.....don't give up on us just yet.

Meantime, how about teasing us with a picture or two of your Audi, we'd all love to see that and very finally....Welcome to the Forum!!

With best wishes.

Hi Steinarn, firstly I apologise, there was no intention to attack you in any way, my monologue was a misplaced attempt at banter humour which we tend to indulge in here in the UK. I was not aware you are from the land of the Fjord. Welcome indeed.

Secondly, you didn't insult me with the term"lowering" and I in no way harbour any grudges or bad feeling toward you or anyone else on this forum. This forum does not operate like that. We pride ourselves on the general welcoming nature that we have, each and everyone of us

i will gladly help with any queries you have especially on C1s, I am not an expert but an enthusiastic amateur, there are so few C1 left that anyone with the time and patience to keep one on the road is number one in my book

Hopefully the clock can be reset and we can off on better footing.

What Frank said too! As an exiled Geordie I do get the humour bit wrong sometimes
