Yep, wives are renowned for it, things along the lines of "don't you think the lounge would look good like this" ?

Get it heated, and a coffee purculator, small fridge is nice, best of all an intercom, then you don't have to keep coming inside to request a cup of tea and sandwiches or ask when dinner is ready

Why are decent sized garages considered such a luxury in Britain? Regardless of the cost of land etc...

Our builders seem to think they are doing you a favour if you can get in/out of the car when its in the garage, never mind emulating those lovely garages which seem to come as standard across the pond.

Too true
My brother has a (modest by US standards) 3 bed house in Nebraska. Double attached garage, each door is almost wide enough to drive in with the car doors open, never mind folding the mirrors!!!!!

2 cars in there, plus 2 lads worth of tut and still plenty of room for him to do a suspension change

Always been envious .

One of my neighbours has a nice brick garage just like i had , trouble is she would have to climb out of the sunroof to get out of the car
