Default panasonic DP800E

This Panasonic DP800 E was supplied with my 1995 Cabriolet and i'm in the process of trying to fit it. 2 block plugs on the back one for speakers and one for power. Now the power plug on back of unit has 4 wires red, yellow, black and blue. Ive wired it red to switched ign supply, yellow to permanent supply (presumably for memory i assume black is earth and blue-dont know. Now the unit works perfectly, plays OK cd's and radio and only runs when ign is on. However the heat sink on the side of the unit is permanently hot to the touch which I don't think should be right. even with the facia off it still stays hot. Anyone got one of these or knows anything about them. Im sure that it shouldn't stay hot even when turned off.
