The link above I posted is for the Overpriced 80 sport that was advertised on here a few weeks ago, and allegedly sold on the bay, but shill bidding won the day and then it got readvertised funnily enough, but none of us saw that coming.

Any sarcasm noted in this post is wholly unintentional by the way!

As we all know, you can spend as much as you like on your car, but you are never going to get back what you've spent, simple. A car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it (market value) but not paying you back for what you've spent on it!

I've spent a small fortune on mine over the 5 years I've had it but it's still only worth £500!

I'm interested in pics, especially of the dented door. I'm only willing to spend the best part of 4G if its a genuine 80s dent, made by a badly parked Volvo 240.

Happy New Year!

umm,
anything is only worth what somebody will pay.... and that includes the housing market ( and that's been talked up for years on the back of cheap money -- look where that has gone ! )

Personally I'd pay that for a really nice 80 quattro..... if i really wanted one but 135k is not my idea of low mileage for a 25+year old car -- yes I know it averages out to a low overall mileage but....
( think I'd actually prefer a facelift 90 tho')

It does need to go to a good home.

May be unrelated, but the 80q that supposedly went on e-Bay for about £2750 (July time?). I followed up for a few months for feedback from buyer to seller, but none came: leads me to concur that this was another case of some spoof bidding. I know, I was a bit naive there! I think a really mint one would be worth this, but as I recall the silver one did not even have an MOT!
