Default Typ85 accelerator pedal cover

According to ETKA, the pedal cover for the accelerator is listed as 171721647.

I managed to source one but it's just too small. Is this correct or do I perhaps have a LHD part number? Either way, the only way it looks like I'll get it to fit is to trim down the metal pedal plate.

Any advice?

Here's the ETKA diagram;

Item 4) "pad for accelerator pedal" 171721647.

And the cover itself;

Have you tried leaving it in some boiling water for a bit then try and fit it, might work..

Its been a while, but when I changed the rubbers on my quattro they were very tight and took a lot of persuasion to go on- after all you don't want them slipping off!

However, I've not seen your replacements and they could be the wrong ones??

I thought only the clutch and brake pedal had covers? the last 3 type 85's I've had and the 2 I own now don't have them.

An 80Q is NOT a Type 85 - it's a Type 81.

But it makes no difference - the same rubber pad is listed for both.

In fact the RHD Type 85 uses the RHD Type 81 accelerator pedal and fittings.

I usually soak them in hot water to soften them up prior to fitting, but the size is just way off, as in 15mm width and 20mm height.

I guess my options are leave it, or cut it down!
