100 Quattro Front Coil springs
Hi,
Would anyone have a pair of front coil springs complete, without broken ends? Car is 1987 100 Avant Quattro not a turbo. MOT tester has failed mine on this!! Many thanks Nigel |

That's great - thanks for your reply. I will try and find out if the 200 springs are the same as the 100 and be in touch.

Hi,
Many thanks for this option too. If Steveb could possibly ask his brother if he has a pair of 200 Avant springs (s/hand) then I would be pleased to buy them if in reasonable condition? Perhaps we can exchange contact phone nos? Thanks again. Nigel |

Hi don't know if you are fixed up yet but have a pair of front struts complete, possibly need to replace wheel bearings as can't remember if car was moved without drive shafts

Given the opportunity, I suggest strut bearings and dampers are renewed at the same time. |

Hi Audizzz,
Many thanks for reply. The forum is a great source of help, and luckily I am hoping that an earlier reply may result in a pair of springs. If this should come to nothing, then the offer of these struts would be an alternative, so thanks again. Incidentally, about 18 months ago I replace wheel brgs, both sides, strut boots, etc and during my 25+ yrs of ownership, I fitted Koni inserts, new top mounts so I would probably only use the springs! Must be one of the few Avant Quattros of the early dash type (1987) still in regular use? Will let you know when things are back together again. I just love fitting the front anti-roll bar into the bottom TCA arms - what a fun job!! Nigel PS. Tried to upload a couple of pics but being a Forum newbie, not sure if this will work? |

Front Springs
Hi
Just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to steveb on the forum whose brother kindly supplied my secondhand 200 springs which fitted perfectly onto my 100 Avant Quattro. The car has now passed its MOT although it now sits higher at the front than before, as it has obviously sagged slightly at the back after 229,000 miles, including towing, heavy loading, etc. Never mind, I can live with that one! Always lots of work to do on the car, what is it about these cars, that mean you never quite get on top of all the jobs (especially electrical) if you keep them in usable condition, but the drive train keeps going on and on........... Regards and thanks to the excellent help of the classicaudi forum - my 1987 car lives for another year! Nigel |
