Almost certainly, I think most Quattros were bought and used hard in their first 15-years of life, killing most off by the year 2000. DeLorians appear to have led a more sheltered existence. This might be partly due to the unique finish of the body.

For sheltered existence - you could probably read "off the road broken" ?? Plus they are fibreglass on a steel backbone chassis & a lot went to California, all increasing longevity.

It turns out, luckily for my acquaintance, possibly the only guy who can fix and refinish the s/s body panels in the UK is not far away from us in Canvey Island.

He's had a few panels done already (most are just sheets screwed onto the fibreglass body), the doors will be done on the body once it is mobile. Apparently very heavy and complex to remove/fit.

Certainly don’t see these every day. Last one I saw was at Retro Rides Weekender last may at Goodwood. That one was on air ride.

I didn’t know that! I’ve always assumed they were “made” of stainless steel, not clad!

Neither did I!
In my 2nd pic you can see 2 of the screws down the back of the front wing. The fit is awful but could be improved with the right skills (but not by me ).

I'll probably end up doing some mechanical work though if I can get it running properly.

There's one that seems used as a daily in Edinburgh- certainly the last few times I've been in town I've see a lady driving it about.

One of these goes to a show in Fleetwood quite often, shame is that it's covered in horrific swirls on the roof and bonnet where somebody tried to use a polisher on it

Hey Bruce... How are you, hope you're OK

That's not a good look for a DMC!
Can be rectified though.

I'm fine Geoff, hope you and the family are good too.

They have used a cutting compound on that DMC which is why it's so bad, new panels would be the only cure.

Funny thing is, the owner doesn't appear bothered in the least
