I want to know what gearbox to use as well. I think 200hp from the 1.8t is too much for the DZ gearbox. The DZ can easily redline 5th gear at around 110mph.

Whats the best gearbox to use? Audi A4 diesel gearbox or, B3 gearbox? Any ideas on codes to look our for.

Thanks

Sorry got to disagree there, in 5th, per thousand , 6000 is 120 mph and only once have i ever seen that ( and not around these roads) and it took a long time to get the last 10 mph and it was slightly downhill.
My DZ has been dynoed at 119 bhp so it's about the usual power.
Yes it's easy to redline in all other gears but the DZ just doesn't have enough power to pull in top.
Now with a 1.8T ......
Is there a possibility of running an A4 box in the 80? Will it mate up with driveshafts etc
As you say, free is good, it might last quite a long time !

Chris what you says sounds feasible, even so 110-120 theres only a 10mph difference. Theres a big difference between 90bhp and 200bhp not mentioning the torque figures; I may even choose to use the stock gearbox for the time being, but I seriously do not think it will be man enough for the challenge.
