I take it you don't want to try and source a second hand box and get it fitted? A risk I know but you may be lucky if you find a car that's relatively low mileage.

Sorry to hear that, what a shame! I'm struggling to keep my two up together to be honest. They're not cheap these classic cars!

It's tragic really... such a waste. Aside from the noise, you'd think it was a brand new car, both to look at and to drive!
My old Citroen CX was well catered for when it came to parts - the classic car backup was superb, right down to the tiniest part still being available. But some stupid idiot forgets to tell dealers to service a gearbox properly (design failure or shoddy service manual?) and it spells the end of what would be a perfectly engineered car. What a cock up! And why the hell didn't I do my research and seek a manual car instead? Damn! Although I always though the auto suited this kind of car best |
