Sorry for the delay Mark, been travelling for a week up in the North Pennines.
Back online now in wildest Weardale.

Here's one of the Spitfire as it was purchased, having been trailered home from a barn (literally, it was being kept in a barn, partly disassembled and incomplete) in Gravesend in 1995.

1966 Spitfire 4 mkII.

And a couple from 9 months later.

This was my daily driver for 5 years, when stripping it to bare metal, it was previously white and before that it was originally green. Managed to establish it was Triumph Conifer Green, one of only 7 colours for that year.

It came with a factory steel hardtop, also had a mk3 bonnet fitted (square sidelight/indicator) that I converted back to correct round Lucas spec. All new boot floor, rear valance, floorpan, interior.

Luckily I lived about ¼ mile from a Triumph specialist who were able to supply me with loads of parts and a car to photograph for reference.

I've got loads of resto pics in a box in the loft at home but only these 3 in digital form.

Thanks for putting these up Geof, somehow i recognise them i think you've put them up before? Possibly soon after David joined the forum and we asked what other cars he had and the rest is history as they say.

It certainly does look fab.

Once I had the Spit, then hankered after a GT6 with that straight 6 motor, always saw it as a natural upgrade.

I thought I had posted those pics before but put them up anyway. I'll just blame your memory Mark

Meant to add, my old Spit still lives!!!! Currently SORN, tax last ran out July 17,
Passed MOT Jul 15 with no advisories, passed Jul 16 with 3 advisories, MOT expired 23/07/17. Sounds like someone has been looking after her
