short shift kits can be a pain to fit if the selector rod is slightly bent (over enthusiastic gear changing normally). It only has to be a little bit and the sliding attachment (obvious what i mean if you saw it) wont go on . Cory spent some time with a metal file and wet/dry to get mine to go in. Luckily he was doing free fitting at the time as a promotion.

Is it any good, is it a modification you would recomend? & whats it like to live with in normal driving day to day?

Also, is there anything you miss about the original set up?

I've been thinking of getting one mysef you see, but my friend whos just bought a mini had one fitted by the last owner and has removed it cause he didn't like it.

he said he sometimes had trouble selecting one of the gears.

I would say in nearly every way its a vast improvement on the urs gear change making general use much easier. the only downside is that it can sometimes be a bit "creaky" feeling for the first few minutes if its a cold morning

problems with gear change could be because it had beeen "set" to too short a throw and could have been sorted. One of the advantages of having someone experienced (Corey in my case) fit one

Cant speak for the 034 ones but Coreys are- so you could adjust it back to standard if you want. In theroy a very easy fit, but in practice can be a bit fiddly, but just time - not skill required!
