Default B3 Gearbox

Morning folks

Anybody the proud owner of a spare box suitable for a 2.2 KV?
Synchro on 2nd has gone to lunch on mine and is starting to get awkward!

I may try and get this rebuilt but the guy I used to use in Falkirk has given up the ghost due to lack of demand.

Regards

I think Kit here still has a 3b S2 one for sale at a very reasonable price.

I do indeed have a 3B S2 Gearbox rebuilt 80K ago by Brian Rickets...

It's in really nice condition, comes with a new genuine thrust bearing, guide sleeve and input shaft seal replaced along with fresh oil.

I have a good FWD box from a 2.6 V6 that would fit and do the job, ratios might be a longer but shouldn't be to far off a stock KV gearbox, you'll certainly have a higher top speed!

Be careful here, we replaced my dads gearbox and rear diff in his B3 90 quattro 10v after he broke his gearbox with the only spares I had which was from a 2.8 coupe quattro. Due to the diferent ratios and longer final drive ratio it totally ruined the acceleration, something he always reminded me of for some time afterwards, yes more relaxed at motorway speeds but the in gear acceleration was I have to admit ruined. Not sure if the FWD coupe gearbox ratios are the same but I suspect it would create a similar issue.
