rally this week end .in quattro
north west stages blackpool, we didn't finish the rally in devon [ brean stages ] , we were around top ten , 9th first stage then on day 2 first stage the gear selector drift pin broke leaving us with no gears , but on bright side didn't cost penny to fix , anyway that's history now to nx event , following week we are in dorset for bovington stages

north west stages and bovington rally update
started blackpools north west stages as intended with 7th on stage 1 [of 24] spun st2 lost 15 secs which was enough to put us 40th , completed another 2 stages fri eve , ending day 1 37th from over 100 starters . day 2 [18 stages got back to 24th early sat , then ball joint n/s/f broke on stage [snapped the pin ,into bottom of strut] carried on driving out stage ,but a marshal directed across the venue which was on a dockside open space with loads of cones , because of this we didn't go threw the finish line and received no time , so the time out marshal didn't know what to do . I asked for whats called a stage maximum as we had driven the incorrect route. I was toled to carry on with the rally . 2 stages later , after a bonnet pin snapped finaly the other [alloy pin /don't ever fit them] broke , the bonnet flew up smashed the screen, after that I double checked our results only to find out that they had excluded us when ball joint broke even though it was marshal who directed us across the stage and id phoned the officals to explain. game over

blackpool rally
the weeton air field stages were very rough with broken up tarmac and concrete roads ,massive pot holes ,one was 2ft wide and looked like it was 1ft deep ,there were curbs stones flipped into the road on some corners on narrow roads not much wider than the audi , that's were we think the ball joint pin fractured , . we also got a puncture and 2 bent wheels at weeton . since then after speaking to other competetors , several have said they wouldn't even rally there again as its a car breaker ,. only 49 cars finished the rally from 100+ . we only had 4 days to repair the car for this wkends 4/5 march bovington stages , but managed it, new screen carbon bonnet repired, new bonnet hinges and new STEEL bonnet pins . and to stop the nuts ever falling /vibrating off the bottom of the pins again I drilled a hole in each one and fitted a split pin under nut [ good tipp if you have them fitted ] , . ok off to bovington yesterday , st1 ok ish javnt compared times but it wasnt that quick , turbo felt lazy ?poss boost leak, no time just 20 mins service .just striped and cleaned dump valve quick look at intercooler pipes back out st2 , going ok but stll not boosting as normal , then double hairpin , on hand brake off onto nx hairpin ,bang bang bang , what the -uck , the same n/s/f ball joint pin had snapped . game over. total gutted 3 rallys in 5 weeks and 3 non finishs
