Send the lights back to Germany and get them exchanged.
On the donor chassis, that really sucks. I've taken a gamble many times, including buying my URQ sight unseen and getting a mate to drive it from Anglesea to Plymouth for me but I've been lucky each time and got exactly what I was expecting. and to think, you like to take gambles but not on my Octy which had never let me down, the guy who's got it now has a bargain!

Hey. Even when you can see the workmanship/facilities, etc, thats no guarantee that they won't screw it up.
If the rear end provides some panels, then the total cost with some fettling is likely not so bad in the end. if replacement panels were available, like ur wings, you might well still be looking at a lot of work to make them fit. And thats genuine parts! Fuel tank. There are fuel tank refurbishers. quattrokid was looking into one some years back, before we simply swapped his. These fellas may be the ones- http://www.fueltanks.co.uk/pages/renu.html

Afraid the whole fleet has been sold to finance this "project"; only have the red '85 cq left plus a Polo, my wifes car is also a Polo.
Your wheels are stashed away safely along with a complete set of as new tyres, awaiting a future project, but that may be a while now. |

'twas a nice coupe.
That's not a bad plan though, have just 1 project? I have the CQ, a Cortina and a Manta........but I couldn't part with any of them, thankfully only one requires major attention. Actually that's a shit plan Frank........but hey if it works for you then that's good. It means you can give your all to just one car. |
