Think I may need one as well
Mine does move but doesn't appear to close off completely after warmup. I did read that a thorough soaking ( a couple of days ! ) in WD40 sometimes helps. If you look on one of the old Volvo web sites, spares/info/ etc. there was also the note that if this didn't work then contact us -- but I haven't yet -- and I can't remember the site !! A few months back I did chase down a K jet distributor and they hadn't seen these for a number of years, confirming NLA....... Just found it ! http://www.amazoncars.co.uk/pdfs/EngineB20E.PDF |

I think I need to have one. Where it is located? Almost under intake manifold? In black color or just like this?

having spoken to the people at Amazoncars (see above link) I hope to have fixed my problem.
They advised to soak the valve in WD40 or equivalent overnight - or even longer and then cycle the valve several times - i.e. making it hot allow to cool etc etc. I've soaked mine for over 20 hours, taping up one end and then just steadily filling the whole inside with a mixture of Plus gas and WD40 ( plus gas ran out halfway thru !). Just before refitting I left it in the freezer for several hours as well ( in a couple of plastic bags in case you know who wanted to know what was in 'her' freezer ..... .... I've just refitted it. After one cycle, cold to hot, the idle now drops back to about 850-900 once warmed up ( previously anything betweeen 1050 - 1200+ revs. |

Yes, you can try to bring it back from dead with soaking it in WD-40, carb. cleaner, fuel, etc. But it's nothing long-lasting. After some time it will be just like before.

I was told not carb cleaner !
Also 'lube' at least once a year - disconnect one of the hoses and just spray the wd40 into the innards was what I have been advised. |
