Default roll bar bushes

Guys, im at my whits end trying to put the anti roll bar rubber end bushes into the bar ends! B3 Coupe
I have tried everything and they are not going in. Anyone actually done these give me a heads up how? ive asked on Cab and coupes face book page and anyone who tried failed, one actually upgrading to B4 suspension.

Must be a trick to this. im going to remove the roll bar and try to get these in on the bench but these rubbers are hard as hell and yes ive tried placing in hot water to no avail.

Things I've tried.
Silicone grease,
Vaseline,
Fairy liquid
talc
Tried pressing in spoon ends, tried pressing in with bolt and washer one end and large socket at other but it wont press into the bar end hole. it just goes flat without popping into the hole and no way its going in like that.
Please help if you know and have actually done this.

I've done them in the past although on my latest project I elected to fit poly versions which come in 2 parts. I can highly recommend them as they are so easy to fit in comparison

For fitting the standard ones

anti roll bar should be clamped in a vice
white grease in the end of the bar all the way round
bush should be slightly warm
push it through half way vertically and then rotate it so that one side of the bar engages in the slot of the bush
while holding it, use a flat screwdiriver or two to push the bush into the hole

Might take a few goes
