Default Dil999

The tracking goes on.... following on from the A2 thread, we got some initial photos from Alex (Thanks Mate). Wonder if someone can help ref history of DLL 999 which was a Rothmans can ex Dave Sutton or any more photos.
Looking for particular photos on fuel system and sump (dry or otherwise).
Thanks for all the help so far.

Default DIL999 update

Following is what I've been able to find out so far, if anyone can confirm or add to this info or provide photos it would be appreciated.
HPI check shows DIL999 as a Model 80 Quattro, 1983 Manufacture 2144cc engine.
It appears the licence plate was originally on an Ascona 400 and after Ascona re-registered the number transfered to the Audi.
Apparently DIL999 was on a Quattro used in 1986 in Lurgan Park.

Referencing the HPI check is this vehicle one of the original Rothman's Audi Rally cars or a modified road car. Interior seems to show a Dave Sutton type dash setup.

Any help apporeciated.
Thanks

DIL999 was Bertie Fisher's first Ascona 400 before he moved onto Manta 400's. There was a guy Freddie Paterson who used a Quattro on Lurgan Park in the mid 80's and i believe he was a rally car dealer in Ireland.

As far as we can tell DIL999 was on Freddie Patterson's Quattro in 1986 but we think Billy Coleman was the driver in Lurgan Park.
Still cant determine whether this was an actual Rothmans team car and where it went from 1986 onwards as it appears to have gone back to Dave Suttons shop at one time and from info we have was sold on from there. It appears to be somewhat of a "mystery" vehicle. Can any of the old time rally hands fill in any details, also photos of it in action or indeed any photos of it seem non existant. Help please.
Thanks

Keith,

I have a few photos of the Rothmans A2 quattro with that rego taken at Silverstone July 2000. I don't know how to post a photo on this site so PM me with method to do so. From the photos it has a dry sump oil system, Bosch Motronic injection system so I suspect full A2 spec engine.

Default DIL 999 Quattro

I have just joined the forum and noticed that questions are being asked about DIL 999. I used to own the car many years ago.

While it's an older thread, you'll be welcomed heartily- pictures of the beast would go down a treat. There's a fair few of us here that get a tad excited by these. Not just the livery. Nuts, bolts, oil leaks too. We'll have it all, and any anecdotes to boot.
