Garage Door
Folks,
I reckon I may have to change my up and over garage door within the next few years. Rust is starting to take hold somewhat. What opinions have you about plastic doors? Are they more resilient in the long run, especially against ultra violet? |

Ours is fibreglass, I fitted it about 20 years ago. Not been an issue. Replaced the cables early this year. Still cleans up okay, still white, still bang my head on it...

I have a white grp one that is insulated, it's about 25mm thick, keeps the really cold out but it is sturdy.
Wife insisted on a grained type finish and is a pig to keep really bright white clean. I wanted a smooth finish, I do reminder of the choices |

I replaced my ageing rusty & twisted up & over door with a Gliderol Mini roller door.
Easy enough to fit in an afternoon, plastic coated in a variety of colours so never needs paint and you gain all the space where the door goes when open

Thanks Chaps,
urquattr085, can the Roller door be a major problem if its mechanism fails? I assume there is a means of accessing the garage if all goes wrong? |
