It's not quite as old hat as that, tesla charge points are free for their cars but there are not many yet, adaptive charge points take your card like unmanned filling stations, doesn't cost as much as a tank of fuel.

Bit naughty

You can't just run out of power if you let the car display it's calculations, it's not how people perceive these things.

Yes but you are driving it, anything sensible and common sense goes out the window

Got 3 contenders for a TT now, strangely one is the 180

Choice from 3 is good, 180 would be a mistake IMO

Not sure why the 180 would be a mistake Geoff, still a 1.8t and the figures are hardly any different to the 225.

The one in the lead at the moment is a 250

A 3.2 mated to a manual box would be the winner for me.

But 225 1.8T Bam should be a lot of fun too, especially when the turbo kicks in. Also lots of tuning options.

I've heard one person who had a few TT's say they can hardly tell the difference between the 150, 180, and 225 but I find that hard to believe.

Possibly true to a degree due to the 150 being FWD and having less weight.

EDIT - changed my mind. 225 manual for me please. Less nose heavy, more availability, better bargains to be had, easily tuned for better performance than the V6, and less thirsty. Only drawback is the sound of the engine, not as nice is the V6.

like the quick change of mind there, the 225 doesn't return much more per gallon than the 250 from the figures i get but then the 180 doesn't either, it would seem the 2litre sport is the best choice but then finding one that hasn't been thrashed is another matter.

TT forums don't help much as they all love whatever they have

oh yeah, don't get me wrong - I'm sure you don't buy either of these cars for their economy
