Default Which tyre size is it?

Not sure how many RS2's there are on this site?

But I am looking for some advise and i am sure that there is plenty of you that can give that on here.

An RS2 came standard from the factory on 245/40R17 Dunlops which were wraped round 7j-17in Porsche cup wheels.
I have just tried to put a new set of 245/40R17 Pirelli Asimertico's on and they just looked too wide and the tyre walls were on a real steep angle. We then tried a Bridgestone which didn't look as bad. But ended up putting 225/45R17's on. Which I think just look shit and the car looks undertyred (If thats a word).

The tyre company have now got one of every make in stock at 245/40R17 and we are going to try them.
Just wondered if any of you have come across this. Poss Mr Cox????

the only tyre in 245/40ZR17 which can be fitted to the 7" Cups on the RS2 are Dunlop SP8000. These were specially comissioned by Dunlop when the cars were new. No other 245 section tyre is approved for fitting to a 7" rim

SP8000s have been out of production for a long time and are not available.

You'll need to fit 225/45ZR17

When you fit them be sure to check the rear tyres inside, clearance from the suspension arm, thats where they catch if they are going to. Thats why they fitted 7s at the factory and not 7 1/2s like the recreations.
