Do you prefer the Golf to the TT John ? If so there must be a good reason as to why, if you could tell me it would help me.

Personal choice just.
I find the TT a bit cramped inside. Whilst I have little experience of how they (the quattro models) drive...….. in my opinion the engine sits the wrong way in the bay?!
The Golfs' just look like a Golf, with a 1.8 turbo!
I suppose for many the TT is a toy, I'd prefer the practicality of the Golf.

…..but if was either a TT or a Smart car, TT wins.

I get your first point John, after all the I 5's i have owned it is going to look odd at first.

The MK four golf has been mentioned off forum a few times to me as well.

I don't need it to be practical, more a fun thing to be honest and me being a short arse will help fitting in wise

I am thinking along the lines of something that may be a little investment over the years that i can mess with at my leisure, the TT roadster is out of the game as is the Smart Brabus roadster, both have leak issues it would seem (the Smart being incurable).

Does my reasoning make sense to you ?

Thought about a Mk 1 or 2 Golf, nice looking, classic insurance, looked after shouldnt lose money and fairly simple to work on ?

I have considered the the MR2 even a MK1 which is tiny, the MK2 seems half as big again, i do like them.

The MX5 just doesn't seem to rock my boat.

The good thing is i don't have to rush into anything, i still have the B3 coupe sort of
