ur quattro photo request
I'm looking for a photograph of the front G60 brakes, whilst fitted to an MB quattro.
I have girling g60 twin pots & urq struts on the front of my 80q with the correct 407mm flexi hoses. Problem is the hoses seem too tight. I'd like to see where the hoses join the copper lines on the urq, as i think it may be different on the 80q. Worst comes to worst, I'll find and fit longer hoses. Does this look right for an MB quattro? (sourced on the net) Cheers! Hoyle Last edited by Hoyle; 05-09-13 at 08:48 AM. |

ont the ur, the Hoses were different lengths, depending on chassis. G54 were fitted to cars up until about mid 1986ish, and G60 from then onwards.
I replaced the brakes on my WR- fitting G60. I had already fitted goodridge on the G54. I seem to recall encountering a hose length issue at some point, but I don't recall if it was my own car or someone else's. according to VAGCAT, on the ur- 433611707 brake hose / F >> 85-G-902 400 M10X1,0X353 / QUATTRO 443611707C brake hose / F 85-H-900 001>> M10X1,0X405 / QUATTRO I wonder if there is a little commonality of parts going on, because I had in my mind that there was a 380mm hose. full lock, right

I'll be much easier than moving the hose mount and making new front copper lines. Only downside is hose flex / pedal sponge. Braided lines can be made to order though. So I think that'll be my best option. |

Superb! That confirms my suspicion. The hard line coupling is in a different position on the 80q. I'll measure then find some longer hoses.
Thanks for your help |

Cat+Pidgeon interface issue....
Looking at VAGCAT, the hoses on CQ and 80 appear to be much shorter- 335mm
