Turning the clock back, period correct look.
I've decided to get the exterior of my coupe back to more or less standard visually.
I'm still going to modestly lower the car when fitting new suspension to improve the handling. However, the 18" aftermarket wheels, clear front indicators and blacked out grille are all going to be replaced with period correct items. I've already changed the grille for a chrome one and removed the "blacked out" side repeaters. Today I removed the clear front indicators and put on some factory orange. Before: After: I have to say I'm very happy with the result even this small change has made to the look of the car. I think the chrome and orange give it a bigger retro appeal. Apologies about both pics being taken in the dark, about the only chance I get to work on the car is in the evening. Next on the list is a set of Audi wheels, oh and getting the ridiculous Powerflow straight through SS exhaust removed Last edited by Cynical26; 07-01-17 at 09:39 PM. |

I'm know some people would probably prefer the white indicators but I for one agree and think it looks so much better with the standards...
Good work I'd say! |

Yep, a bit of colour looks right to me, just stick a middle box on the exhaust and no back box will sound crazy!

This has to be the first car I've even removed clear indicators from! Missfire: the car sounds mental enough already. Need earplugs on a long journey |

No joke! I've seen it done, ideally if you can find someone who knows five pots it takes out all the booming when cruising but if you plant the accelerator you get the best five pot growl I've ever heard.
My name's Duncan by the way, passing through ayrshire tomorrow, I'll give you a wave! |

For sure.
Looking good. The back end will look much better with twin pipes, I never heard your car at "the welly" but did spot the single upswept thing at the back! Liking your progress, a little here and there and before you know it, it'll be "your car". You should get a few quid back for the wheels, they look like new. |
