My 1993 Audi V8 has sat for a few months and appears now to have a flat battery.
As a result the cetral locking would not open the car and using the key did nothing - how can I get the car open when the battery is flat? |

I had this this week on the S6. Battery goes flat and no central locking. Just unlock the drivers door manualy open your bonnet/or is your battery under the rear seat? If so reach round to the inner rear door pull. Pull the lever door opens access rear battery under seat or if case maybe under bonnet. Disconnect battery and recharge. That should be all that is needed.Works for me. Hth.

V8 door lock
Unless something is missing in the locking mechanism, the key should unlock the door.
By missing, it could be that a link rod connecting to the locks has become detached. Answer- go through the other door. Other alternative. Wire coat hanger on the pull knob. BTDT.

If the layout is anything like my S8 then the only recourse is to break into the boot to access the battery. Door locks don't appear to operate manually!!

I can get into the boot but the battery is under the back seat. There is an additional charge point under the bonnet but the only part of the car that I can get into it the boot (the car does not have folding rear seat)?

Why can you not using your key unlock the drivers door manually? |
