Default Specialsts/Audi Breakers

Considering we all share the bizarre interest of maintaining and running old cars, which sometimes can be hard to find parts for. I thought it would be a good idea to start a list of good contacts. For example Audi specialist mechanics and Audi specific breakers. I'll add a couple in a moment.

Coxy, if we can work out how to do it () we should make this one a sticky.

OK.

Starting in the South West (Cos that's where I be frorrm!!)

www.allaudi.co.uk

All Audi in Bristol. - A lot of modern stuff but do also have some late 80s/90s spares quite often.

www.audi4u.org

Audi4U - Down in Bridgewater, Somerset. Very helpful chaps. Do carry parts for 80s spec cars. Not much older stuff but have a good knowledge of their subject and interchangeabilty (word?)

www.vwaudibreakers.co.uk

Based in Melksham (Wiltshire). Lots of experience - again they are specifically looking at 1980s onwards but will be able to provide advice on what should fit where.

Hi, Just a note on VW/Audi breakers in Melksham: last time I went there about 5 years ago - they said no appetite for breaking or keeping any Ser 2 (81) Audi 80 bits - all they had was a headlight, which I took for £15. They may have changed their tune - good if they have, but likely only B3 onward - with some interchangeable bits of course. Cheers.

www.sanburn.co.uk They are just off the M6 Jct 3, follow the A444 to the Recoh Arena and they are right opposite.

More so Audi Specialist but also VW (obviously). He even had an old V8 engine gearbox, a couple of ABY engines and gearboxes and some other pretty rare and potent stuff!

Going there today for a propshaft centre mount, hopefully it won't be too expensive!

if you want genuine parts, cheaper than main dealer (and cheaper than VAGPArts.com sometimes), check out VeeW Services in Bristol.

Also do service parts (filters, pads, oil etc) cheaper than GSF!!!

Brilliant service too.

Smashing VW in leeds bit dear but have bits for late 80's on.

Not a specialist but probably one of biggest in yorkshire is Babington car spares, i was in a couple of weeks ago and there was various later 80's 90's a coupes, an old spec 100 (h plate) and an old 83y coupe.

Only problem is stock changes quickly as they turn over aprox 100 vehicles a week

Can people please supply phone numbers where they can? Particularly the Babington breakers in the above post!
There was a list on S2 forum for Audi specialists, but having phoned most of them recently looking for typ 85 parts, they could not help.
Cheers
Chris

Hi jogi, Babington car spares number is 0113 2496753. The only thing with Babington's is its an "old fashiond" yard where as you remove your own parts with the exeption of the 'cut out' engines, they dont do postage either. As i said in my earlier post they are not a specialist audi breaker just a breakers yard but hold somewhere in the region of 400 plus vehicles in the yard at all times. Smashing VW vw/audi specialist can be reached on 0113 2435635 or 2450700
