Spot on !!

I'm a dab hand at undertrays, headlight and front bumper removal now.

It seems everything I do needs at least 2 out of 3 of the above taken off first.
I reckon I could remove them all in about 30 minutes

Excellent how to Geof, superb!

Was your compressor wheel and hot side in perfect nick just needing a clean? No damages? If yes that's lucky - no?

The hot side looked caked in oil and carbon is that normal? I'm thinking not the oil but you can confirm.

Thanks Mark, took a while to write up!
Physically, both wheels are fine thanks, no nicks or bent blades

On the hot side, I expected it to look like it does given I'm burning some oil.

Normally I would have thought it would be carboned up given the car's age and that it has been running rich, could be the seals were failing allowing oil through, more likely though, its coming from combustion.

I'm looking forward to you receiving your gasket, whipping this lot back together as you're well seasoned now for a report and hopefully the big thumbs up.

Cheers mate.....I'm really hoping I haven't b*llsed it up

Next stage depends on what arrives first:

Downpipe gasket or all the new woodwork for our hallway refit !!
No way I'll be allowed in the garage if there's plastering, trimming out and decorating to be done

Nice job there, got to finish it, the wood in the hall needs to acclimatise for at least 3-4 days or you may get shrinkage etc.

There you go, just bought you some time.

You don't want to change the cam cover gasket on mine do you ? looks a pig of a job and the spark plug wells are filling with oil

Hadn't thought about timber acclimatisation
Like your thinking

It is mdf though, known for its stability, but she won't know

I'd happily tackle yours if you were somewhere near here, it's the 20v coupe I presume?

Second thoughts the car will give you less problems.

Ive done one, not an easy job at all, but i was only removing a few years back, i'm sure you'll be able to manage without breaking into a sweat.

Having said that, have you read the thread how someone replaced the rocker cover gasket and then the car wouldn't fire up?
