I've had good few bargains from them.

Me too, dynamic pricing can work to your advantage.

Don’t particularly like how they price competitors very aggressively until their gone but I intentionally shop elsewhere if the price is within the same ballpark.

Their customer service can be very effective, you can see why they are so succesful.

I’ve had mostly a very good experience with them, but there was a point about a year ago where things got a little weird, and my account got messed about with briefly, requiring some interaction.

It was down to someone trying to hack in. I was never asked for bank statements, or other such detail. (Sellers are required to do so)
I wonder if it might be a scam pretending to be amazon.
There have been plenty of spoof emails trying it on.

Do you/did you use their app? Or website based? Or link via an email?

I’ve had a couple of claims against sellers which were resolved very easily and very quickly, compared to the fiasco that eBay and PayPal put you through. I much prefer Amazon.

Note: We recommend using the "Call Me Now" feature instead for speedy assistance. We'll be ready to help you straight away based on the information you've already provided. If you prefer to call the general help line, you may need to answer a series of questions to verify your identity.

My only "beef" against Amazon is that you get trapped into signing up for a free trial of Prime and have to remember to un-sign up.
Otherwise, I buy all my CD's (don't like downloads) and many of my (new only) books from them.

I don't use them.

Dickensian staff treatment and working conditions, taking business from independent retailers, and accounting arrangements which reduce tax paid to UK to a fraction of what you'd expect given scale of UK trading.

I buy local or from independent online sellers as much as possible because if or when they have been driven to extinction by the global giants we will be in real trouble.
