It doesn't always go well in garage land!

Managed to screw up rebuilding the sunroof (I put the top rails the wrong side of one of the guide pins) so first job this morning was stripping the rails out (which meant resealing them again to prevent the previous leak recurring which led to grease and sealant all over the shop ) feckity feck feck!

Rear quarter cards back in along with the back seat, the retaining pin adjustment for the folding seats was a bit of a PITA, took out the extra wiring for the fan that'd been fitted, headlining back in with all trim other than the sunroof switch panel.

Cleaned the carpets, they were pretty rank with rust staining from the sunroof leak. However after much scrubbing............

The quality in these things is epic.

Over 200k miles, no problem, pedals rubbers aren't even starting to wear!

Got the tyre fitted that I need and started on the wheels. They are prepped, filled and I'll sand/prime tomorrow, waiting for some masking cards to come before painting them properly.

Mats are shagged, I'm going to get some custom made to fit properly, I'll do a separate topic about a group buy.

Anybody know a part number or replacement for 4/4b in this (nothing listed on 7zap for it)

I need 6 of them for my side mouldings. I could just tiger seal them on but reluctant to do that

Thanks

Today's progress!

Alternator belt arrived, fitted, tested and squeal is no more, barring nasty surprises at the MOT that's the mechanical work on the car done.

Got stuck in about the front bumper, it's still got it's original paint on most of it but a few nicks and crazed bits.

Flattened back, plastic primed and painted, needs to harden and then be flattened back again before lacquer but it looks good.

The cars been a P and J at some point as you can see things have been painted that your average Joe wouldn't do, the front number plate surround being one of them. As you can see from the photo, we're fans of Mackie's Ice Cream

Seats back in, I mentioned this kit, absolutely brilliant, seats feel really good and smooth on movement with no play whatsoever. Result!

Had a heater in the car overnight to dry the interior out, it even smells fresh in there now, it's quite different from the damp and smelly place it was initially.

Got the door cards to go back on, the doors to set up properly for final fit and interiors done!

Got to add one more job to the list and that's replacing the bobbin mounts for the fuel filter mount, all 3 are fecked and it's flapping free. Forgot about that one.
