Interesting what folk are saying about the air-con system, will be able to confirm if it works very soon, I bought the car! Will be collecting it on a trailer on Friday so will be able to report back accordingly.

That's strong money for a car that's been unused for 18 months and doesn't run?... But clearly has been looked after
You must have really wanted it......I applaud your enthusiasm......you only live once so why not eh?
Enjoy !!

Got it for £1,500 in the end, the non starting issue was just the Quantum immobiliser/alarm not turning off, once disabled car started and ran fine (thankfully) new starter solenoid required though and a few paint issues but nothing to drastic. Interior is mint. Aircon may or may not work, will find out soon. Needs new sunroof seal, are these available? Or does anyone know of a source of suitable replacement?

Congrats, you've got a decent car there and for good money too. Sunroof seals are hard to come by, new old stock ones do come up now and then, but go for millions...

Glad to hear the starting was only a small issue. As for the seal, I was amazed at the money these go for. Sold a sunroof last year with the seal attached and it went for £150! Guy who bought it told me he was more interested in the seal than the sunroof!!

Good luck with the hunt for one. Whenever I've needed a super rare part I've almost always lucked out on ebay.de Just requires a few stabs on translator to understand the exact German name of the part you're looking for.

I understand the entire sunroof (panel, seal & mech) are the same as in the Mk2 Golf of the same period; I bought a seal sold as a Golf one & it fitted

Amazingly Audi dealers still can supply new sunroof seals, have one arriving Tuesday, £60 which is good, they did want stupid money for a starter solenoid though £145 or so, so I'll prob just buy a new starter complete from GSF
