totally frustrated with this audi b2 90 gearbox car has been sitting for more than ayear before i bought it back started it today went too press clutch its solid switch off engine stuck it in gear start engine no jump or engage engine running can go throo gears no movement a fellow audi member talked me throo diffrent scenarios and we r stumped ave checked linkages move by hand opend blled nipple for slave got peddle moving but no gears jacked it up stick it in gear both fron wheels move am at a loss open for suggestions owned car for 8 years before i sold it 2 years ago and it ran like a dream anyway hoping sumone is able too help or suggest sumthing too me please

This sounds like it could be a case of a stuck clutch plate.

Put it in gear with the engine off and rock the car backwards and forwards until it releases, or easier still pull it with another car until it does the same.

no cv joint issues car wont go into gear too do this cant get gears atal thats wat i planned on doing its strange i can start the car clutch out and go throo all the gears even reverse and nuthing engaging

Has the clutch slave cylinder stuck out, ie holding the clutch in ? this would allow you to select gears but you would have no drive, undoing the bleed nipple would not release a slave cylinder that has stuck. as I recall it's bolted on underneath so easy to remove and check

clutch peddle was solid when tried pushing it in i released the pressure on the nipple just wondering if this wats caused the no gears maybe clutch fork aint moving or engadging sumthing too do with the fluid?

Never easy from a distance but, It sounds like the slave has stuck

Unbolt the slave cylinder and see if the piston is free.

Not quite sure if I understand the problem??…..

Pedal was solid but now ok...…...are you able to see if the slave cylinder is moving the release arm?

You can engage the gears but no drive when pedal is let up/clutch engaged?

If the clutch disc was rusted to the pressure plate and/or flywheel it would move when started in gear even if clutch pedal was depressed.

Could it be that the clutch disc has broken up as a result of it rusting to the flywheel and being abruptly freed off?

hi john clutch peddle solid so was told try opening nipple on slave wich i did so peddle went too the floor so left that at that just now i can start car in gear go throo all the gears without the car moving or jolting,or like stick it in gear and turn engine car should jump this one doesnt nuthing could slave be stuck halfway or anything

is slave easy enough too take apart like nuthing going pop out al have a look on friday lashing rain tonight as usual thanks
