Rear diff oil quantity
I have changed the oil in the diff on my MB Quattro but it only seems to have taken around 1ltr, the Phil Payne site says 2.2ltrs, am I using the wrong fill point? Ive used the one on the off side of the diff
Thanks Last edited by oliverjl; 25-06-19 at 01:02 PM. |

This caused me some head-scratching. There's only one fill plug. On my RR the overflow capacity was ~850 mls. I drained and filled a second time to be sure. I think Audi probably changed the rear diff in later models.

Same for me too with my RR. 1 litre and started to flow out. I purchased 3 litres of Redline GL5 for the 2.2 litres so a couple spare!!
I did note that another data sheet put the coupe quattro at 1 litre and UR at 2.2. As the MB and RR have the same diff with the Torsen change, wonder if the WR is 2.2L and others are 1L with the diff lock added. |
