Audi 100 c3 dash

Hi all ,, has anyone ever removed a dash from a Audi 100 t44 and if so what's involved please ??

Hi, not much, there's a trim strip directly above the steering column which is held on by two or three ph1 screws, then under that a few 8mm bolts/screws to remove.

Some of the connectors have a colored center plastic locking tab, that must be popped up, BEFORE you attempt to pull the electrical connector off the back of the cluster. Use a curved dental pick to pop up this center tab on the connectors. One of the smaller connectors will need to be squeezed together to release the tangs. There usually are 2 to 3 small bulbs with twist lock bases, that need to be rotated counter clockwise to remove them from the right side of the instrument cluster.

Are you looking to take just the instrument cluster out, or the entire dash panel?

Entire dash as severely cracked 👍

Ah, sorry. Pre-1991 I take it? Don't know how similar it would be to a later one but may not be too bad? In a new one it would be a matter of removing all lower dash trim around and below steering wheel and glove box, disconnecting pretty much all switches and instruments, radio, heater control cables and ducts removed, centre console out, fresh air blower behind the glove box could maybe stay in place and the dash is probably bolted to the lower a-pillar bits at each side. But no, never done it.

Should be easy enough with a logical approach and plenty of time, the only fickle bit would be resetting all the innner and outer heater cables, not hard but there is only one way to do it. Not sure what all the relays are hanging from but with any luck not the dash!
