Type 44
Im trying to find the trim/rubber that goes round the windscreen on a type 44 audi 100. I can get a new windscreen but not the trim to fit it and it has to be new, part discontinued by audi in 2011 !!!

Maybe make something up from stock parts? These folk sell the metal inserts too I think. http://www.classiccar-trim.com/phdi/...ocument&part=8
All else fails I've got a whole car with no front end you can have for £200 get a grinder out. |

windscreen fitter should be able to remove old trim proper careful like and refit to new glass.
that's what my fitter told me when I enquired about getting a new screen fitted.

As Eltee says. If you have a good fitter, with patience, then it should be salvageable. Its a cheese wire effort. The windscreen trim is NLA, with no apparent effort to replace them.
On my V8, I had to use VW T4 black rubber trim, which results in a tidy, C4 type fit, but you lose the Stainless steel trim, and it also loses the grounding.
