Business use car insurance?
I maybe starting a new job on the 7th and it involves me driving two care workers from house to house as they visit their clients.
The company I will be working for said that I need business class 1 insurance.. So I rang up my insurer swiftcover , who I then told them about my new job and that I needed business use on my policy. I explained what my job involved ( driving the care workers and waiting around outside in the car ) And the guy on the phone said that will be fine, and he proceeded to add buissness use to my policy. But since looking on my updated policy , it says : Class of use: Social & Business (you or your spouse or partner) and on the certificate it now reads: a) Use for social domestic and pleasure purposes. b) Use by the policyholder in person in connection with the business of the policyholder. c) This policy does not cover use for commercial travelling. But my concern is, there is no mention 'specifically' of 'Business Class 1' Should I be concerned? Even though I described to him the nature of the business use over the phone? |

Best to check with your broker/insurer, but it reads correct to me.
I have "Class 1 Business use" and wording has always been similar to yours and always excludes "commercial travelling" |

I too have business use & that wording is familiar.
Refer it to your forthcoming employer for advice before trying to argue unusual wording with the broker

That is exactly the how the cover endorsement should read for business use.

Gaz...Thread drift but I'd be very interested to know what was the final result of this thread that you posted a couple of years back now, if you don't mind sharing it with us
http://www.classic-audi.co.uk/forum/...ad.php?t=31514 Although threads such as the above and 'having trouble with.../need advice on...' and the like lead to a lot of debate we very rarely get a final result posted do we? |
