Question Sediment Filter - urq

Between the tank and the pump is a sediment filter with a 12mm bore. NLA.
Are we expected to just keep cleaning this item out, or does anyone know of an alternative replacement part?

Is it,the gravity filter(Catch big bits/rust.)?2.5-3 inch diameter?

I bought a new one,but I didn't really need to.As said,just needs washing out with fuel.

Yes thats the one. I dunno what to do. Its got a brand spanking new facet syntec TCP020/2 pump on it and it makes a hell of a row. I mean, thats the reason i replaced the old one, cause i thought it was on the way out. I thought it was the contributor to my running problem, but thats another thread.....

Well, it's crude and brutal - but try this.

Just disconnect the hose from the tank to the sediment trap (you'll obviously need a bucket or similar) and see if fuel pisses out of the end like it really should. Think hosepipe. If it's a trickle, join the merry band trying to find new fuel tanks, clean out the old ones, etc.

Tried this today and well, it didn't exactly piss out, bit of an anti climax tbh. In fact it dribbled out. It had 2 gallons of fuel in the tank. I assume the would be enough?

What has happened inside to cause this? And what can I do about it?
